Two juveniles were charged with setting a three-alarm fire in a Pikesville apartment complex Wednesday night, police said.

The suspects, a 12-year-old male and an 11-year-old male, deliberately started the fire in a pile of trash and mattresses to the rear of a Millbrook Park Apartments building in the 6900 block of Millbrook Park Drive, police said.

Due to legal restrictions, further information pertaining to the suspects’ identities has not been released. Both are being charged as juveniles, police said.

Police said no one was injured in the fire, though residents in three apartment buildings were displaced and 28 apartments sustained water damage.

The blaze reached three-alarm status within 20 minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene. The fire was brought under control an hour later.

Police said that damages have been estimated to $500,000.
