Man charged in child porn case

Police have identified a Randallstown man as a suspect in a case involving child pornography, following an Oct. 6 tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Kenneth Majeed Smith. 37, of the 2100 block McChurch Court was charged with 13 offenses that include possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor, and related charges, police said.

Detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant for Smith’s the home on Oct. 12, police said. Police said items recovered included a computer laptop, computer tablet and several  “thumb drives.” Thousands of images of child pornography were found, police said.

Police said that Smith had a sexual encounter with at least one child and may have had sexual encounters with other children.

Smith is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

BCPD detectives and the Crimes Against Children Unit will continue to investigate the case and attempt identify the children pictured.
