Baltimore County police have begun an investigation into a human skull that was found in Owings Mills Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched to the wooded area of Owings Mills and Gwynbrook Avenue at 9:25 a.m. after receiving a report that a couple had discovered what appeared to be a human skull, police said.
The two people were on a walk when they came across the skull, which was among other bones that have not yet been identified as human or animal remains, police said.
The remains will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to be identified and the investigation is currently being handled by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit, police said.
