Baltimore man to be extradited to MD

A 25-year-old Baltimore resident wanted for the Aug. 9 attempted murder of his girlfriend since has been taken into custody in Loudon County, Virginia, and is awaiting extradition to Maryland, police said.

Moises Dejesus Moran-Garay, of the unit block of Birdknoll Court, had been on the run since an incident that left his 33-year-old girlfriend in critical condition, police said.

Police said Moran-Garay tried to strangle his girlfriend while the couple argued inside the victim’s home on Songbird Circle in Lansdowne, Maryland.

During the argument, police said, the suspect told the victim that he was going to kill her. The victim was seriously injured, police said, adding that the suspect fled the location after the fight.

Moran-Garay will be transported back to Maryland, where he will await trial, police said.
