A Dundalk man is in police custody after a carjacking that ended with him driving a vehicle into Bear Creek, police said.

Jason Wenner, of the 1700 block of Iverness Avenue, has been charged with robbery, carjacking and “related charges,” police said. Wenner is being held on a $250,000 bail.

Officers were able to take Wenner into custody without further incident, police said.

Wenner, 33, stole the car from his 75-year-old grandmother while she was going to her car to retrieve something, police said. Police said that Wenner took the car keys from the woman, pushed her to the ground, and then drove away in the stolen vehicle.

Near the 8200 block of Beach Drive, Wenner drove the vehicle into the creek, police said. Police said Wenner exited the vehicle and swam to a pier and took his clothes off, before unsuccessfully attempting to steal a jet ski and then a boat.
