Human remains were found by a pedestrian last night in a nearby wooded area in Essex, police said.
Police said they responded to the area of Route 702 and Eastern Boulevard just after 7 p.m. when the decomposed skeletal remains of a human were discovered.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene for further investigation, police said.
Police said the remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification purposes and to determine the cause and manner of death. The incident will remain under investigation by the Baltimore County Homicide Unit, police said.
