Police arrest 6 in connection with assault

Police announced six additional arrests in connection with the April 22 assault on 45th Street that seriously injured a 61-year-old man in front of his house.

Police said witnesses believe anywhere from 40 to 50 people may have been involved in the attack.

Police identified the following suspects.

  • Andrew Omar Allen, 15, of the 3200 block of Elmley Avenue, was chargedwith attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. Heis being charged as an adult and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
  • Yahkeem Zavion Wheatley, 15,of the 400 block of East 20th Street,has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. He is also being charged as an adult and is being held on $200,000 bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
  • Samtoya Isiah Wiliams, 17, of the 1500 block of Burnwood Road, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and robbery. He isbeing charged as adult. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $1 million bail.
  • Mya Lashae Stewart,15, of the 800 block of Bethune Road, is being charged as an adult but was originally charged as a juvenile on April 24. On May 4, she was indicted by a Baltimore County Grand Jury. She is now charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. Her current custody status is unknown.
  • Antoine Willie Lawson, 17, of the 5600 block of Clearspring Road,was originally charged as an adult with first- and second-degree assault. On May 4, he was indicted by a Baltimore County Grand Jury. He is now charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. His current custody status is unknown.

The arrests are in connection with the assault on Richard Fletcher, who was attacked by a group of people while he was trying to break up a fight between two teenage girls.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Keenan Tylike Holloway, 20, in connection with this incident. He is currently in custody in Baltimore City on unrelated charges.

Detectives  arrested a seventh suspect this morning, but his information will be released after he has a bail hearing.

No more arrests are expected.
