A bail hearing has yet to be scheduled for the shoplifting suspect responsible for a seven-hour barricade situation at Catonsville grocery store Tuesday night.

Police said the adult female was arrested after hiding from Baltimore County Police in the ceiling of the Giant in the 4600 block of Wilkens Avenue.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police said they were called to the store for a reported shoplifting.

The woman ran from the store’s security personnel and climbed into the ceiling using shelves as steps, according to a press release.

Police closed the store during the search and reopened it when they found the woman around 10 p.m.   She was taken to the Wilkens precinct for processing.

The woman’s identity will be released after the bail hearing.
