Juvenile hit by car while running from police

A juvenile was hit by a car as he attempted to run away from a Baltimore County police officer late Thursday morning, police said.

Police responded to a report of a large group fighting in the parking lot of the Newtown Village Shopping Center on Groffs Mill Road in Owings Mills just before noon on Thursday, police said.

Upon arrival, police encountered a disorderly juvenile male in the area, police said.

According to police, the juvenile was hit by a vehicle as he attempted to run across Groffs Mill Road after officers moved to place him under arrested.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said they expect to charge the juvenile with disorderly conduct.
