An 18-year-old man was charged with impersonating a police officer at Eastpoint Mall on Wednesday, police said.
Savon Shakur Hamilton, of the 4400 block of Maple Shade Drive in Orchard Ridge, was a member of the Baltimore City Police Department’s explorers program, which introduces young people to a career in law enforcement, police said.
He was found wearing a gold badge from the program, along with a BB gun, baton and portable radio, police said.
Police also found a stun gun inside Hamilton’s car. He was charged with impersonating a police officer and possession of an electronic control device and released on $10,000 bail.
