Man found dead

A 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Owings Mills metro station Wednesday in what police are calling a “sudden death.”

A Maryland Transit Administration police officer found the victim, George Howard Russo, in the bus loop shortly after county police and fire personnel responded to the scene at 4:43 a.m.

Police said there were no signs of  foul play. The man’s  body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Hit-and-run leaves pedestrian hospitalized

A 25-year-old man remains hospitalized in serious condition after he was struck by a car in Essex on Tuesday, county police said.

Police said the victim was struck by a vehicle as he was trying to cross Eastern Boulevard to Royal Farms at Woodland Avenue. The suspect was traveling west-bound on Eastern Boulevard when he hit the victim and fled from the scene, police said.

Witnesses identified the vehicle as being a small to mid-sized sedan, dark in color, police said. The vehiclemost likely has a broken windshield and bumper or hood damage, police said.

The hit-and-run incident  occurred at about 8:50 p.m.

17 injured in accident

Seventeen people were injured Monday after a transport vehicle crashed into an SUV in Pikesville, police said.

The senior transport vehicle, Select Care, and the SUV crashed on the 3500 block of Woodvalley Road, according to police. Police and fire rescue resources responded to the crash at 9:10 a.m. Select Care had 14 patients and one driver in the vehicle while the SUV had two people inside.

One passenger in the Select Care vehicle was in serious condition and was taken to the hospital. The two passengers of the SUV were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
