City PD warns residents to protect packages delivered during holiday season

The Baltimore City Police Department has released a public service announcement to inform citizens about common package theft off of porches from online purchases and deliveries.

Police are recommending that citizens do the following:

  • Utilize tracking information to anticipate the arrival of packages.
  • Request a signature confirmation of delivery and arrange to be home when they are delivered.
  • If you know you are not going to be home when your package arrives, have your package delivered to a neighbor or friend for safekeeping.
  • Post office boxes or other secure drop lockers are a good alternative to home delivery.
